10/10 - I Care Day
10/10 - I Care Day is coming up fast on October 10th! (With the craziness of the fall, you may want to do these outreaches on a different date which is okay.) We hope you're making your plans for the 10 people (at least) that you will be reaching out to that day to make a difference in their lives - 1 person each hour for 10 hours! If you need outreach ideas, you can purchase our 10/10 - I Care Day Kit for (1) your school or (2) your business below with about 30-pages of ideas, templates, and strategies to help your school/home school, and/or your business reach out to others during this difficult time! We have different forms in each of the three 10/10 - I Care Day Kits that are appropriate for those realms of influence. In the 10/10 - I Care Day Kit for Schools or the 10/10 - I Care Day Kit for Businesses you can just pick which of the outreaches you would like to do, and then print the templates on your copier and add your own words to personalize the form if you would like. An example of one of the forms you can use is the 10/10 - I Care Day Card below that you can download and print right now. Here is another example of a card in the Kits that we have given to our Fire Department on 10/10 - I Care Day when we have dropped by their station with a platter of cookies. Just print it, fold it in fours, and add your note. These are the types of the templates in the 10/10 - I Care Day Kits.
Impact your world on October 10th
What would the world look like in one day if every person reached out to make a difference in the life of one person every hour? B.I.O.N.I.C. wants to know! On our 10/10 - I Care Day on October 10th we want to encourage every one to reach out to 10 people – one person each hour in 10 hours. What a great way to say “Believe It Or Not I Care” to your school, business, church, or community!
We encourage four types of outreaches on 10/10 - I Care Day:
- Individual outreaches
- Group outreaches
- Community Service Project
Here are some ways to reach out:
- Say “hi” to a stranger
- Thank your parents for making your meals, washing your clothes, letting you use the car, etc.
- Thank a teacher for grading your papers
- Call your Grandma and tell her you love her
- Open the door for someone
- Let someone else go first in line
- Visit the elderly at a senior living center
- Pay for someone’s coffee
- Bring a goody basket to hospital workers or postal workers
- Bring cookies to a Police or Fire station
- Buy flowers for a secretary
B.I.O.N.I.C. is a nonprofit making a positive difference through B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams in schools, businesses, churches, and communities, and in society as a whole. If you are thinking about starting a B.I.O.N.I.C. Team, 10/10 - I Care Day is a great way to see what happens when people actively show how much they care about each other. The B.I.O.N.I.C. Team started at a school after suicides of four teens who went through difficult times and needed to know that people cared. On October 10th we hope no one will feel left out or that they don’t matter.
Inspire others with what you're by posting a 10-second video on our BIONIC Facebook page of one thing you will do on October 10th to make a difference (if you go over 10 seconds that is okay). Simply state your name, your school/business, grade/position, and one thing you will do on 10/10 - I Care Day to make a difference in someone's life. Your video will help give others ideas too. Also post on Twitter and re-tweet using #bionic1010. Post on Instagram too!
We have strategy, information, cards, posters, and other materials to help you spread love and hope on 10/10 - I Care Day in our 10/10 - I Care Day Kit. We are also exploring the possibility of having a virtual 10/10 - I Care Day Rally from 3:00-4:30 pm MDT on the 10th to come together and celebrate the difference we all make together around the world that day. Check back for more information.
