How to Get Involved and Support B.I.O.N.I.C. Through Colorado Gives Day

The B.I.O.N.I.C. Team nonprofit is participating in Colorado Gives Day on December 6th that helps raise funds. Even though it has Colorado in it's name any money raised will not only stay in Colorado but will also be used to help B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams in schools outside of Colorado too. Your tax deductible gift to B.I.O.N.I.C. will be processed through our fiscal sponsor, the Colorado Nonprofit Development Center. CNDC takes care of our accounting, payroll, insurance, etc. for a minimal fee so that can free up our staff to do the work in the schools.

The rate of teen suicide in Colorado increased by 58% in 3 years. We see similar trends across the U.S.! Research shows that compassion has a great influence on giving the lonely, discouraged, isolated, depressed, and those at-risk for suicide the hope to carry on. Help BIONIC Teams in schools nationwide reach those kids!

Donations raised through Colorado Gives Day this year will go toward:
- $30.00 - to scholarship a school counselor in any school (Kindergarten through college) to take the online suicide prevention training course called QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) to support students who become suicidal.
- $97.00 - to scholarship a team of up to 4 students/staff/leaders from a school/home school group/team/afterschool group/church to attend a virtual B.I.O.N.I.C. Team Conference to learn the basics of B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams.
- $400.00 - to scholarship a school/home school group/team/afterschool group/church to become an officially certified B.I.O.N.I.C. Team and receive the training, materials, and resources to plan and implement the B.I.O.N.I.C. Team with all the support they need from the nonprofit to run the club.
- Any other amount you donate, we will put toward the scholarship fund for schools to start B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams.

Suicide and Bullying are greater problems than ever before since so many kids regressed in many ways during the pandemic. Many kids have regressed up to two year in their growth and development with 8th graders acting like 6th graders and 4th graders acting like 2nd graders. In this new era, School Counselors need updated training to deal with the new stresses kids are facing that have resulted in increased suicide attempts in students of all ages. Your gift of $30 will scholarship a School Counseling professional to get the online "QPR - Question, Persuade, Refer" training. It will result in not just saving one life, but will help the School Counselor provide a safety net for every kid under that School Counselor's care!

In the last 6 months, we had over 200 schools attend a B.I.O.N.I.C. workshop at state or national school counselor conferences and many want more information on how to start a B.I.O.N.I.C. Team in their schools. Our one day conferences help them see if B.I.O.N.I.C. is a fit for their school. With then budget crises in schools they tight budgets and are struggling to come up with funds for B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams in schools. Your gift of $97 will send a team of four people from a school to our virtual B.I.O.N.I.C. Team Conference to learn more about B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams.

This fall about 80 schools want to start new B.I.O.N.I.C. Teams, but many are having difficulty raising the money for the $400 fee since it was not budgeted from the year before.

Your gift of $400 per new school which includes a BIONIC-In-A-Box with all the information, materials, and online resources to run a B.I.O.N.I.C. Team in a school. Anything donated will go toward a school B.I.O.N.I.C. Team to become officially certified for a registration fee of $400. Donors aren’t able to designate to a certain school because of confidentiality issues. Schools will be able to apply for the funds.

The $400 is a one-time certification fee with a $400 renewal fee each following year for updated templates and resources and support.

The B.I.O.N.I.C. organization is committed to keeping the fee as low as possible (compared to $5,000, $2,500, or $1,000 for similar programs at schools) by applying for funds from other various sources. We would rather for students and staff to spend their time reaching out to the hurting instead of having to raise more funds.

You can donate at https://www.coloradogives.org/story/Bionic. We are able to accept your donations through December 31, 2022 for a tax deduction for this calendar year and every donation has an impact.
