B.I.O.N.I.C. Hospitalization Teams

In this series of all the B.I.O.N.I.C. Team outreaches, the Hospitalization Team gets some of the highest words of praise! For example, “You’re the only ones from school who came to visit me!” The hospital raises mixed emotions for B.I.O.N.I.C. students too. It is powerful to see B.I.O.N.I.C. students grow to feel comfortable visiting peers in the hospital – a life lesson few people ever learn. Hospitalized students feel very lonely – like the world is passing them by. Allison and Mackenzie share what helping hospitalized students looks like.

When hearing of a student in the hospital, the B.I.O.N.I.C. Team:

• Contacts the students’ families to get permission to visit the students at the hospital.
• Visits students with a gift to let them know we are thinking of them.
