Summer Outreaches to the Homeless and Bully Prevention Webinar

Summer Outreaches – This coming week reach out to the Homeless
We hope you have been enjoying the summer outreaches as a family or group. For this week, notice the increasing amount of homeless people as the economy has taken a downturn. This week how about serving a meal at a homeless shelter? Or are you seeing the homeless on street corners in your area. How about putting together a few large Ziploc (or other) bags with a bottle of water, 2 protein bars, tissues, lotion, sunscreen, hand sanitizer, Chapstick, and a new pair of socks?

We encourage you to have a meeting this weekend to talk through the activity and plan the outreach. Use this form to plan the details of the outreach giving each member responsibilities in carrying out the activity. Please take every precaution for the safety and care of your family or group in planning and participating in outreaches in your community. Special note, for safety let your kids know that it is best to do this type of outreach under your supervision. Always have an adult from your family/group with a child if you split up into groups.

Remember, to be in the drawing to win a $50 Amazon or restaurant gift card, take a picture of your family/group doing the outreach and then post it on our B.I.O.N.I.C. Team Facebook page at the end of the outreach week as indicated on the calendar below.

Free Bully Prevention Webinar

This summer when kids gather together in a neighborhood, on sports teams, at summer camps, and other places, we know youth can be bullied out of the sight of the parents and adults. When bullying occurs in those groups, the adult leaders deal with the situation (sometimes inadequately), and then send them home to their parents. Parents are a crucial part of the process, but are often left out of conversations and trainings to help them know how to help their kids.

How do you help your child deal with a bullying situation so it doesn’t have long-lasting effects on them? With over 31 years of working with kids in schools, teams, clubs, and youth groups, our B.I.O.N.I.C. staff want to help parents, guardians, grandparents, relatives, and youth leaders know how to handle a bullying incident.

The week of July 3rd we will start offering free webinars to help you know how to:

  • Support your child by creating awareness around what bullying is and what to do if you see signs of it in your child
  • Take action after a bullying incident to recover your child’s emotional well-being as quickly as possible
  • Obtain strategies to prepare your child for what to do in a bullying situation and how to possibly avoid one
  • Prevent future bullying in your community by empowering your group, school, church, and realm of influence

We will post a blog with webinar details this coming Tuesday, June 28th.

Let us know if you have any questions or if there is any way we can be of help.
